AERCAP AND ASKY SIGN B737-8 MAX LEASE AGREEMENT

LOMÉ - On 22nd May 2023, AerCap Holdings N.V. announced of their signed leasing agreement with ASKY airlines a Pan- African Airline based in Lomé, Togo. The aircrafts due for leasing are Two (02) B737-8 MAX that are scheduled for delivery between June to August of 2023.

During the announcement, CEO of ASKY, Esayas W. HAILU, the CEO of AerCap, Aengus Kelly, the Board Chairman of Ethiopian Airlines Group and Aviation Advisor to Togo, Mr. Girma Wake, Board members of ASKY, and other distinguished guests were all present to witness the ground breaking announcement.

Aengus Kelly, the CEO of AerCap had this to say, "We are delighted to welcome ASKY as a new customer to AerCap and particularly pleased to place the first MAX in Togo. AerCap is the largest lessor in Africa with 14 airline customers on the continent, and we are pleased to continue to support the growth and development of African aviation. We wish the ASKY team every success and look forward to working with them as these aircraft deliver."

Esayas W. HAILU, the CEO of ASKY made the following remarks, "I consider it an honor to introduce state-of-the-art B737-8 MAX aircraft into the ASKY fleet, which will support our wide regional network in our continuous endeavor to serve our esteemed customers. I am confident that the introduction of B737-8 MAX will further enhance ASKY's brand image before the eyes of the traveling public. Asky Airline currently operates to 26 destinations across the African continent namely, Abidjan, Abuja, Accra, Bamako, Bangui, Banjul, Bissau, Brazzaville, Cotonou, Conakry, Dakar, Douala, Freetown, Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Lagos, Libreville, Lomé, Malabo, Monrovia, Ndjamena, Niamey, Ouagadougou, Yaoundé, Sao tome and Praia. The airline has a fleet of 12 (Twelve) aircrafts thus 11 (eleven) Boeing 737 and 01 (one) De Havilland Canada DHC-8 Dash 8.
